Our Favorite New Wedding Trends of 2015!

Hi, I'm Brooke and I am the new intern here at ForeScene Events. I am so excited to be taking over the blog for a little while and giving all of you a “Brooke’s Eye View”!

So you know a little about me, I am a senior at Southeastern studying Family and Consumer Sciences, and I have aspirations to be a wedding planner after graduation.  I love planning, and I love to pay attention to the details.  Sometimes the seemingly smallest detail is what makes the biggest impact on a person.

I am creative, and sometimes I like to do things outside of the box.  I am quirky, and for the lack of a better word, unique.   There are many wedding trends and traditions that I love, but I also love some of the new trends and traditions that have been making their way onto the scene as of recently.  Here is my countdown of the top 3 favorite new wedding trends!

1 – Having kid friendly activities at the reception.

As everyone knows, kids get bored very easily.  They like to have something to do.  If you are having a lengthy reception, consider having an activity table for the children that will be in attendance.  There are a lot of free printable wedding themed coloring sheets available online, as well as many other options to choose from. Some other examples I have seen lately are wedding bingo cards, interview questions for them to ask the bride, groom, and members of the bridal party, and even something as simple as putting paper over a table with buckets of crayons for them to color on.

2 – Outdoor door photos.

I am in love with these two pictures! We have all seen the traditional behind the door photo, but I love how they added a fun element by using vintage props and incorporated their bridal party into some of the intimate moments. I also love how the outdoors gives it a more rustic and vintage feel, and I think it perfectly captures the personalities of the bride and groom.

3 - My number one new trend is having your grandmothers be the flower girls!

While this trend is super non-traditional, I think adding unique elements into your wedding makes the day even more special. But, with that being said, I LOVE it! They are having so much fun, and you can tell that they are overwhelmed with joy that they were asked to be part of the couple's special day. While this may not be an option for everyone, it is such a cute idea.  Even if you had a special little girl in mind, you could have her lead the way for the grandmothers, whether with a cute sign or her own basket of flowers. I just can't express how much I love this idea, and it will be in my wedding some day.

I hope you have all enjoyed getting to know me a little bit better, and I look forward to sharing many more stories and pictures with all of you!  What are some of your favorite wedding trends or traditions?

New Orleans Wedding Magazine Bridal Show

We had the chance to create a space at the New Orleans Wedding Magazine Bridal Show on August 27th, 2014. Partnering with Grow With Us Florist in Metairie, we created a beautiful alter space in a combined effort.

Our vision was to create an interactive booth where brides-to-be choose their favorite arrangement from five beautiful bouquets done by Grow With Us. The brides then had their doting bridesmaids snap their photo, standing underneath the alter envisioning their big day. We had a few brave grooms take the photo with their future spouse, and all of the photos turned out amazing!

Adding in plants and a Navy Blue runner with Red Rose Petals we created a competition worthy area.  The Bridal show went great, and we were able to meet many potential clients. We are so proud of our work for this bridal show, and hope you enjoy it as well.

We Brought New Orleans to Las Vegas...

This was one of the best birthday parties I've ever done. The client called a little less than a month before the party and said "I've been trying to get this party together for over a year and its not happening, can you make it happen?" AND oh yes, we made it happen! A full weekend of exciting events, amazing trinkets, and delicious treats. Here are just a few pictures to show the Fabulous pieces we put together for our clients!

The Pajama Brunch gifts and menu (Brunch At the Palms is  DELISH)

Each guest received gifts at every event, at the end of the weekend,
we made sure each guest took their gifts with them, they were pretty cool stuff!
The rhinestone masks and the bejeweled wine corks were from Saturday.

I loved these centerpieces. They were Las Vegas' interpretation
of Mardi Gras! LOL I loved it!

We hand bejeweled each of these Zulu Coconuts as the name cards.
Shout out to John Gonzales for all the print work, he did his self on these gorgeous menu cards. The gold leaf chargers were from our Las Vegas Decor rentals!
We set these tables in 20 minutes LOL!

The tablescape was gorg! I loved the florist, Las Vegas Event Florals & Decor!

The cake was Vegas' take on Black and Gold Saints cake... Worked for me!
And it was good! The chef at STK made the cake too.. OHH the food was soo good!

These are the welcome bags. The came with personalized bottles of wine,
a door hanger, an agenda, a full hangover kit, and the reusable beer bag.
(All Mardi Gras Ready)

Can't have a party during Mardi Gras without king cake!
Yup we had King Cake in Vegas... Randazzo's!

These next shots are of the suite at the Aria, the first night we had a cocktail party in this suite,
the food and the drinks were ROLLIN! We partied NOLA Style in Vegas baby!
Shout out to one my dearest friends for being our bartender and my support system all week...
Thanks Jason

Glad to have worked with our vendors, specifically Studio Tran for capturing the bride and groom and their nuptials PERFECTLY! I say it all the time, its about the picture and Eric did THAT! From the food to the Second Line, the guests had a great experience!!! Check out the video, our up and coming videographer, Yoshi Brown.
